Si hablamos de heavy metal, metal o rock duro, es de ley hablar de Judas Priest: un grupo británico que desde 1969 lleva dando guerra y llevando el estandarte del heavy metal a hombros, acompañados por Venom y Motorhead. Podemos decir que el principal mérito de Judas Priest fue claro: fueron los primeros que basaron todo su estilo e influencia en el heavy metal, completando así la "definición" de la corriente musical. Existen discusiones sobre este tema. Sobre todo porque hay defensores acérrimos de Black Sabbath que atribuyen a ... Discusiones nocturnas de heavies, dejémoslo ahí.

El caso es que he querido traer a Judas Priest a esta casa por una razón clara: el otro día me comentaron que Judas Priest anunció que se retiraban tras la actual gira que les está llevando por todo el mundo, llamada "Epitaph".

"I think it's time, you know. We're not the first band to say farewell, it's just the way everyone comes to at some point and we're gonna say a few more things early next year, so I think the main thing that we just want to ask everybody to consider is don't be sad about this, start celebrating and rejoicing over all the great things we've done in Judas Priest."

Pero unos días más tarde anunciaron que estaban escribiendo nuevo material y que no era el final de la banda.

"This is by no means the end of the band. In fact, we are presently writing new material, but we do intend this to be the last major world tour."

Así que parece ser que no, que no se separan. Por lo tanto, y aunque podría haber más oportunidades... os lo recomiendo, aprovechad esta gira en su paso por Madrid, Coruña y Bizkaia, junto a Mötorhead y Saxon, alrededor de Junio.
